The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

Happy Friday!

Hey there my friend's! So we had a pretty great day today. My husband, Tom sent me to Walmart to get Milk and stuff to drink for the weekend! They are replacing our bridge on the highway that takes us into town. So we have to take a detour and it takes longer to get around! Anyway, Tom should know better than to send me to Walmart by myself in the Spring.

(Plant haul from Walmart!) Of course the first place I went to was the plant section! I picked up some purple and pink verbena, some gorgeous Cobalt Blue lobelia, some super tunias, and 2 pots of Stock. If your not familiar with Stock it is used as a cut flower and smells Heavenly! Oh, I also picked up some Dianthus!

( My Easter babies!) I did something this year I have never done before. I ordered plants from a catalog! It is so much more economical and you can get a great variety! My Mom used to order her plants all the time I'm not sure what has taken me so long to try it! So Tom helped me clean up one of my flower beds.

We planted 3 Lady Annabelle Hydrangeas. Some new varieties of Iris and some new varieties of Peonys. I am excited to see them come up and bloom! I also have 2 Chaste trees 🌳 that we aren't quite sure where to put. Then I have Collection of 4 Butterfly 🦋Bushes. I do know where I want to put them. I am creating a butterfly 🦋garden right behind my pool fence. I just love to sit there and let the butterflies flutter around me! So as most of you know I don't like to take the boys into stores because they behave so badly! So I hurried through Walmart by myself, then I picked up the boys! They were wound for sound! Fortunately the next place we had to go was to buy dog food. When you go inside to pay the boys go to the toys! There is everything from trucks, trailers, head gates and corrals. It is all very cool and there is cattle to go with it! It is the only place where my boys stay occupied until I'm ready to go! The only thing is we have to put everything back before we leave!

So when we got home 🏡the boys had snacks and we watched some cartoons. They needed a little guiet time! Then Papa (Tom) got done with his work and we all went outside to play in the dirt! I know that gardening isn't for everybody but planting and creating beautiful flower beds gives me such a sense of satisfaction! It makes me happy! I finally stopped about 6:30 and went in to fix supper! I just baked some chicken tenders and made mashed potatoes 🥔and gravy, green beans and stove top stuffing. I was all so yummy! The boy ate good and got ice cream 🍦for dessert!

It was phone call night with their Mama! The boys get distracted and wander away from the phone! So it takes constant supervision! I'm always relieved when it's over. The boys were tired after their busy day and went right to sleep 💤😴!

That was pretty much my day. I recorded some video earlier to share with you! I will attach it to this blog! So bye for now! FG Farm Girl
