The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

It's A New Day!

Updated: Jan 6

Hey there my friends and family, today is a new day! Not only is it Monday, the beginning of a new week, but this blog has done something that could only be done with the magic of computers. We just went bilingual!

For about a year now I have had friends reading my blog from countries all over the world. I am honored and a little speechless that people clear across the globe would actually get on my blog and read it. Since I discovered this, I've tried to write my blog with these people in mind as well as my friends in the US. So today I hope that I have made it easier for people all around the world. You can now select your language and A Farm Girls Life will be translated for you!

So that is my big news! If this blog doesn't translate into your language and you want it to, please let me know and I will try to make it happen.

If you have been following this blog you know that I haven't blogged recently. As a matter of fact, a chunk of time has gone by since my last blog. During that time my Grandson's finished preschool and kindergarten. They both graduated. (Thank the Lord!) The ceremonies were as cute as can be. Of course, I took lots of pictures and videos.

Our spring here in Southwest Missouri was cold and wet. Personally, I love gardening when it's still cool outside. This comes from the Farm Girl who hot flashes all the time! The problem was it was too wet! Not just for the garden but for the pastures and the hayfields. So, we were late getting our 1st cutting of hay up and now that we're into July it is hot and dry! The grass is dry and crunchy. Definitely not worth making hay. As a matter of fact, my husband has just turned the cows out in the hay fields because we need grass to feed them!

Oh well, it's not the first drought we have had in southwest Missouri and it won't be the last. By the grace of God we always get by!

Speaking of the grace of God. Most of you know that our daughter had a little baby girl last year. I have been babysitting her for a year now and on July 13th she turned a year old! We celebrated on Saturday. She was surrounded by a lot of people who absolutely love and adore her. We had a lot of fun and she was so cute and funny! Personally, I think she is just precious. We also had another precious event happen. Three weeks ago, our Son and his girlfriend gave birth to a beautiful baby boy! His name is Aksel and he is so sweet! So now we have four grandbabies.

It's funny, there was a time in my life when I wanted so badly to be a Mom! I could imagine what that might be like, but I was afraid it was never going to happen. Finally getting to be a Mom through adoption has given me what I thought was my greatest joy! That is where my hopes and dreams stopped. I didn't let myself imagine anything more. I had no idea what it was going to be like being a Grandmother. I find myself shaking my head. I didn't need to be a Grandma to be complete and whole but God gave it to me anyway! All I can say is that it is the icing on the cake! I don't think I have ever loved more or experienced so much joy! They are precious, even the older ornery ones. Speaking of the older ornery ones. They are in bed and still talking and my daughter has to be at work bright and early. That means Jaylyn will be here bright and early!

So, I had better close and go to bed. I am an insomniac and I literally read myself to sleep every night.

Before I close, I have some questions for all of you: What book have you read lately that is your favorite? What season of the year is your favorite? Where is your favorite place to go on vacation and why! Message me with your answers! Also, I have kids' t-shirts, I love my dog t-shirts, and custom pet accessories 25% off through the month of July! So shop now!

Bye for now!
