The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

Chilly Tuesday!

Hey my friend's! It is a chilly Tuesday in Southwest Missouri! Yesterday it got up to 70% and today we're supposed to get snow! We are definitely one of those states where we can say, " If you don't like the weather just wait a while!" I'm going to have to cover a bunch of shrubs and plants! I just hope it doesn't get too cold! So I just got back to writing this! It snowed most of the morning and then poof the snow stopped and it was gone!

But I did manage to get some pictures! I spent the next several hours trying to get some pictures out of Dropbox and onto my phone! I knew there was a way. I figured it out just when it was time to go get the boys! I actually took them to Walmart by myself! As most of you know I don't like to do that because they usually behave very badly. So I bribed them with a treat if they would be good for me! I make them hang onto the cart one on each side. They actually did good until we got to checkout. It's the standing around and waiting that they can't do. They shoved each other, argued about whose hand was going to go where on the cart. Jeremiah spit on Izaiah and then he spent the rest of the time talking about pooping and farting! He thought he was hilarious 🤣! Let's just say there were consequences when he got home!

Doesn't Jeremiah look like a little Cherub! Like he is so innocent that he would never do anything wrong! There are some of my flowers that are now sitting on our kitchen table! It is supposed to get to 27 tonight! So I was really glad to see Tom when we got home. He helped me unload the groceries and ride herd on the boys! Then we all went outside and started covering plants and shubs and fruit trees. We even managed to cover my Lilac! We'll see what happens. If it gets too cold not even covering them will help. At least we tried!

My Lilacs in the snow! This tree stands on the highest hill on the farm! It's very old and actually it's hollow inside. I don't know what keeps it going but it leafs out every year! After we covered everything up we came in and took a little break. We set the boys up with cartoons in the play room! I really haven't heard a peep out of them since!

The Sunset last night was gorgeous! Nobody can paint a sky like God! Those are some of my plants from winter sowing! They need planted but I'm not doing it till after the cold snap is over! Well I'm getting ready to start supper. It's going to be simple. Fish Patties and oven baked potatoes wedges. (I will include the recipe on my next post.) Well that's it for now. I just want to remind you that A Farm Girls Life now has a YouTube channel! It is full of gardening tips and baby calves! So check it out Under Tricia Peelen! Bye for now! FG Farm Girl
