The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

Never A Dull Moment!

Updated: Feb 4, 2021

Hey my friend's! So how was your Tuesday! We've made it into February! I know all of you live all over the world. We all have different seasons. Here in Southwest MO things start to green up in March! The daffodils bloom and the crocuses stick their little noses out of the ground. We start to plant our gardens with cabbage and potatoes! I don't know about any of you but I am a gardener! It's genetic. I come from a long line of gardener's. For me it isn't well maybe I'll plant a garden this year. It's I have to plant a garden!

I need it to thrive! I love the smell of dirt and composted cow 🐄 manure! I love to run my hands through it! The dirt not the cow manure! I love watching things grow! As a matter of fact it is time to start seeds! That will be my project for this weekend! The boys helped me last year so I will probably get them to help again! Anyway, I'm excited! So living on a farm there is never a dull moment and there's always something going on. We got our family room cleaned up and shampooed the carpet. Then my husband decided it was ok for me to go buy some new to us 💺 chairs! So I did and they were going to deliver them tomorrow morning.

I had also been texting a fellow Collie breeder. One of our Collies is in season and we want to breed her to my friends male Collie. The genetics are perfect. We should get some beautiful genetically sound puppies! Anyway my friend requires a progesterone test so she knows how close the dog is to being absolutely ready to breed. I had never done that before and didn't even know what it was. So we started calling around to our local vets to see if they did the test. They all said that yes they did but they would have to ship the test off to a lab and we wouldn't get the results back for several days! Well that defeats the purpose! While you are waiting on the test results the breeding widow just passes you by. We finally called a vet clinic where I was pretty good friends with one of the techs. She said they shipped theirs off too but she thought she knew of a place that did it in house. It certainly pays to know people. She found a place that does their test in house. So we made an appointment and I'm taking Honey

There is our Honey Bunches with my husband Tom! there in the morning. Then depending on where she is in her cycle, we will load up her and our Grandson's and head for Illinois! I had to cancel my chair delivery or at least change the day. Tom has to get the farm ready to leave it in our Son and almost Son Inlaws hands for a day and a half. I made my list of things to do! You know making list are really about ordering and organizing your brain. Half the time once I've made my list I don't need it anymore because it's all in my head! So we will have to see what tomorrow brings! Goodnight for now my friend's! FG Farm Girl

PS. You all know that I believe in the power of prayer! I am constantly praying for my family, especially my Son who has just had a tough time dealing with life! Well last night he rolled his truck! He, thank the Lord, is ok except for bruises. He doesn't normally wear his seat belt but last night for some reason he did. If he hadn't he would have gone out the window and would probably have died! I saw the truck today and I just cried tears of relief, tears of amazement! The truck is totaled and when you stand there looking at you can see that it is squished every where except around the drivers seat. Only the spot where he was sitting was undamaged. I ask the Lord to constantly surround my Son with his guardian angels. Last night he must have had a legion of them! Nothing is impossible with our God!
