The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

SPRING BREAK!

Hey my friend's! So it's Spring Break this week! No we didn't go anywhere and I think we only had 2 nice days all week. Seriously we woke up to2 inches of snow yesterday! So I have been stuck inside with my little guys for almost 7 days and yes I am ready to pull my hair out!

(We had guitea few calves born during the storm. If you can enlarge this picture take a look at the black calves face! It's too cute!) I usually get a break when the boys have a visit with their Mother but now even that is over. We officially have Guardianship of our Grandson's! That is good because we can keep them safe and we don't have to worry about the bad boyfriend! On the other hand that means that DFS is done with us. So now when the boys have visits with their Mom I have to supervise it myself!

(Fluffy my garden cat! My Collies helping me take sunset pictures.) We have had a lot of meltdowns this week, ( from the boys), over everything and nothing. Through all the rain and snow and tears and tantrums we have almost made it to the end of Spring Break!

(My husband and I did have a chance to drive around the farm, check cattle, and talk about things that need to be done!) I think that next week when they go back to school it will actually be a break for us. Except for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Those days our oldest Grandson has services at the school he'll go to next year and or therapy with a counselor. I get to do a lot of running back and forth on those days!

(Sunset on the farm! It finally stopped raining!) At least my daughter has been off on Thursday and Friday so I have had some help and company! She is slowly but surely moving into what used to be my parents house! Her boyfriend moved in over the weekend! They still have a lot of work to do but I think most of the painting is done. She's been spending the night with her boyfriend and then coming home to get a shower and get ready for work! It's just so weird to have her gone at night. We are not really empty nesters because we have our Grandson's but Sammy is our baby! I'm not sure that I'm ready for her to have her own life! I know that I will still see her a lot since she will be living right down the road from us!

(My Honey and my Daughter's pup a Border Collie/Blue Heeler cross! Note the blur, she is never still! Evening on the farm.) My husband and I are giving her our old bedroom set so I've been busy cleaning out dresser drawers. It's still a nice set but I think our tastes have grown up! We are getting ready to order a new set. Until then we bought dressers for the boys that we are using temporarily until ours new set comes!

(My Daughter's house is just down the road! Our farm house glowing with friendly light and my Grandson just back from fishing!) Then we will give the boys old dresser to the kids for their new baby, move these to the boys room ect. Speaking of the new baby I will tell you more in my next blog! I will also do a Spring crafts blog and share some ideas from pinterest!

(Heifers standing in a row, curiosity has them watching us! More evening on the farm!) Happy Spring Break everyone and thank God it's almost over! Do you remember that it was this time last year that we went into Covid lockdown? My deepest sympathies to those who lost loved ones. Talk to you later! FG Farm Girl
