The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

I'm Back!

Hey there my friend's! I have to apologize for not blogging in the last few weeks. My life got really busy and overwhelming!

My Grandsons birthday was May 14th and yes he was born on Mother's Day. His arrival changed the meaning of that day forever, for this family 👪❤! Yes we love him with all our hearts and he turned 4 this year! As many of you know we have Guardianship of our Grandson's and they live with us. Jeremiah has watched everyone's birthday come and go and he was so excited that it was finally his turn!

So we had a big family birthday party complete with cousins to play with, cake, ice cream and presents! He was so cute! Because Mom and Dad are divorced and don't get along we had 2 Birthday parties. One on Friday night with Dad and then another on on Saturday with Mom.

Believe me it has turned into a real balancing act trying to keep both sides happy and not sacrifice the happiness of the child in the process. Everything turned out OK but it took some planning and standing my ground to make it all happen!

In the meantime life on the farm goes on. We finally shipped our Turkeys (We had to keep them a month longer than normal), they were huge when they left! Then because we had to hold on to them longer it shortened our turn around time. Meaning my husband only had two weeks to clean disinfect and set up 5 barns longer than a football field. I was really pleased to see our adult kids really pitch in and help. Especially our Daughters fiance, he was especially helpful. He is a very nice young man and is always willing to help out wherever he's needed.

Our new Grandbaby is due on July 5th! We are very excited and our Daughter is huge! She has always been a little bitty thing and now she is all baby! Because I like to take pictures and play around with my camera she let me take her pregnancy pictures. We had fun taking them.

We got birds back in on Sunday night. So my husband and I decided to get away for a few days before getting tied 24/7 to the farm again. We left the boys with my nephew and his wife ( they have four little girls and are great parents!) The boys had a blast and Tom and I took our camper down to Table Rock Lake!

We like to go down to the Shellnob area of the lake. Specifically, we like Campbell Point campground and Marina! It is so beautiful there and we took some time to just catch our breath.

We did a little shopping and little swimming. We had some slow lazy mornings and cooked breakfast over a camp fire. We ate out at the floating restaurant where you can just pull up in your boat and swim suits are expected! Then just in time for sunset we went to some beautiful senic spots to take photos!

Yes I am a camera geek. I had my good camera, my tripod and my remote switch. My husband humors me and helps me carry my equipment and set up. We were literally running from one place to the other trying to catch the sunset!

Anyway we picked up two very tired little boys and came home with ourselves feeling pretty rested! Now we have all our barns full again and we are ready to raise another flock. We'll that is it for now. Don't forget to check out my shop I have new Farm Girl T-shirt designs. You just might find something you can't live without! Talk To You Later! FG Farm Girl
