The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

Grandkids and Gardens!

Hey there my friend's and family! Here in Missouri it's harvest time in the garden! It is so much fun with my Grandson's! For them it's like a treasure hunt! They get so excited when they discover a ripe Tomatoe or 🥒 Cucumber or Summer Sqaush!

They want to eat them right then or they want me to go cook 🍳 supper even if it's 10:00 in the morning 🌄. For the vegetables that I didn't plant we try to get to our local Farmers Market! .

We stopped this week and bought fresh blackberries, peaches 🍑, and tomatoes 🍅! My little guys thought we were at a party! They were so cute! I gave each of them a sack to carry to the car. They though they were really big stuff! So last night for dessert 🍨 we had fresh peaches 🍑 and chocolate cake. They loved it!

Sometimes I forget about the experiences that they haven't had! Their mother was a heat and eat girl and not much on vegetables! These boys had never had corn 🌽 on the cob. I didn't plant any corn this year. So I also bought corn 🌽at the Farmers Market! I cooked it for supper and buttered and seasoned the boys corn. When they took that first bite I think they thought they were in heaven! The looks on their faces were pure bliss! 🤣! As Tom said, "I had my moment!"

They also like to help me pick flowers 💐 (which is my passion!) and they are always bringing me a dandelion bouquet. I'm working on them bringing me flowers with longer stems! Right after Jaylyn was born I made my daughter some welcome baby bouquets, the first of the season! I didn't get my Sunflowers planted this Year and I really miss them but I have lots of other flowers to choose from!

My newest garden acquisition, Lime Light Hydrangeas! Oh and heirloom roses! I'm pretty excited about these and I can't wait to see them do their thing! Well I think that's it for now. I would love it if you shared your garden's and children/Grandchildren with me. Send me pictures and tell me your thoughts.

Talk to you later! FG Farm Girl
