The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

Beautiful Day!

Updated: Apr 14, 2021

Hey there my friend's! I hope everyone is having a great Monday! Mondays can be kind of hectic but around here Monday is one of our least crazy days! Although you never know what the day might bring.

(My front facing flower bed. I figured I would start at that end. I also potted up some Super Tunias and a gorgeous Red Gerbera Daisy! I thought that I would pot them before Katie ran off with them!) Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day here in Southwest MO! I had the chance to play in my flower beds! I cleaned up the winter debris or at least I got started on it. It's time to plant my flowers that I started in Milk Jugs (winter sowing!) I planted a Butterfly 🦋 Bush, a Holly Hock, a Poppy and some Liatris (otherwise known as Gay Feather). I fertilized it all then I muched it.

(Crabapple and Apple 🌳 tree blossoms!) While I was busy doing all of that my Oldest Grandson disappeared. When I realized it and went looking for him I found him playing with the water hose. I forgot and left the faucet on and he was making a big ole puddle right beside my Greenhouse. He ran when he saw me coming! So after taking care of that situation I went back to my flower bed. Then I looked up and saw Katie (my daughter's brat puppy running off with my Pansey's that I hadn't planted yet! Of course she was scattering plants as she went! At least it gave the boys something to do.

I sent them on a hunt for my plants! We found all but 1 of them! Just a little while ago my husband came in and put something in my hand. It was the last missing Pansey plant! A little worse for wear, I have it soaking in some water to see if I can revive it! I threw some frozen pizzas 🍕 in the oven for supper and then we went back outside to plant trees! The boys helped and I got some great pictures! With the crabapples in bloom and the apple trees in bloom it was really pretty out there!

(We kept finding Easter Eggs left from our Easter Egg Hunt! The boys were thrilled!) It was such a nice warm evening. The boys started playing tag in the front yard and I got it on video! I'm going to post it to YouTube later! I also have some baby calf videos to show you! Anyway it was so nice to enjoy our time with the boys and it turned out to be a beautiful evening!

I caught some sunset pictures! It's always so pretty here on this farm 🚜 ! Talk to later! FG Farm Girl

(We planted our little Blue Spruce that we got at Christmas time! The boys helped! They were hauling mulch for the little 🌳 trees! We watered them good and used pecan hulls for mulch! I will explain that another day!)
