The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

Walking For Fall

Updated: Oct 18, 2020

Walking, exercise, health, walking trails . I don't know about the rest of you but I'm not so great about staying on an exercise program. I start out with the best of intentions and then I stop. I always have an excuse! I'm too tired, I'm too busy ect... Well the one kind of exercise that I do like to do is walking! Especially in the Spring and Fall. Well Fall is here with it's bite to the air and it's crystal blue skies. It is perfect walking weather! We will video our walk later and show you how beautiful the farm can be in Fall! For those of you who may not have the right gear for those fall walks, here's some help! https://amzn.to/3jlfjkl https://amzn.to/3cUyzT https://amzn.to/3ipgRsl https://amzn.to/3iwIJeg https://amzn.to/2SjBrzw There you are walking shoes to make the dreaded, I mean fun exercise easier! Tomorrow we will talk about target heart rates. Great walking trails in South West MO. Maybe you can share your favorite trails with us, where ever you live!

Here are some great trails 👣 👌! Last summer we had the opportunity to visit the Oregon Trail. It was fascinating to see the covered wagons and the indentions in the ground where wagon after wagon passed through! It was interesting thinking about all the people who were headed out to find a better life. By the time they reached Oregon they were almost there. Imagine the hardships and the excitement! You can actually walk part of the Oregon Trail in several different parts of the United States. Google American Parks specifically The Oregon Trail. The other place we visited was Sunrise Beach, also in Oregon! It's not a big beach but the sand felt great between our toes. We loved walking barefoot in the edge of the surf. Beaches are great places for walks!
