The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

The Majesty of a Moment!

Updated: Jan 3, 2022

Hey there my friend's and family. So Christmas in Southwest Missouri was very warm! My boys were running around in shorts and they were barefoot! Not kidding! It was in fact, so warm that we ate Christmas dinner in the evening on our screened in back porch! Again, Not kidding!

I smoked a Turkey and a Brisket. The Brisket was tough but the Turkey was tender and delicious! I also made a Pecan 🥧 pie for the first time. I also made a chocolate 🥧 pie and Hummingbird Cake (which was delicious)! It's a wonder we can still walk through our doors 🚪 without turning side ways! New Years Eve was fun! We went to my daughter's house 🏠. My husband found and purchased for her a used but beautiful pool table. So we ate (again), chatted with Gus's family ( My daughter's fiance) and we played pool! With our little guys we didn't make it until midnight but we had a good time! Christmas

So the temps dipped and it got 🥶 We had to cold proof everything from animals to our camper! It warmed up a little today ☺ and the ❄ snow was pretty!

So now we have started a New Year! I know a lot of people who were unhappy in 2021! We are now wondering just what this New Year is going to bring? I'm sure there will be surprises both good and bad.

For me I have to dwell on the reason for the season! We all had Covid in November and December! Thank the Lord, we came through it ok. Since we believe in natural immunity we decided to start going back to church! That has been such a blessing for us and the boys! From the manger to the cross, Jesus really is the reason for the season! So this year take a chance! Do something new! Make a new friend! Step out of your comfort zone! Help someone in need! Ask God for a miracle! He's always listening! Experience the majesty ✨ of a moment! Talk To You Later! FG Farm Girl
