The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

So yesterday, Friday, Samantha and I got to run away from home for part of the day! It was her day off and she has finally reached the point where she needed maternity clothes!

(See my little skinny, mini!) She is normally a size 2 and barely weighs 100 lbs. So she has managed to make it this far by wearing sweats and ๐Ÿ‘• t-shirts. She also bought a size larger in ๐Ÿ‘– jeans! We don't have any maternity shops in Nevada so we decided to go to Joplin! Joplin is almost an hour drive for us. I don't know if anyone remembers but Joplin was hit by an F5 Tornadoe 10 years ago. It has slowly been recovering, building new homes and new stores. The Tornado ๐ŸŒช went right through the older section of the city. There were beautiful old houses ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ and lots of older growth ๐ŸŒณ trees. It took out everything in it's path and lots of people lost loved ones. It also damaged St. John's hospital. They had to send people who were hurt to other towns and cities! It was truly a sad, scary time for a lot of people. Next weekend is the 10 yr anniversary.

Anyway, Sammy and I decided to hit the mall. We thought surely we would find a maternity store in the mall! Not a one! There were no maternity stores! We did go into Old Navy and a few other stores where she found some loose shirts ๐Ÿ‘• and we found a dress ๐Ÿ‘— that was cute and loose fitting. What she really wanted was shorts and jeans ๐Ÿ‘–๐Ÿ˜•! We finally asked someone and they suggested Khols. To be honest I had never been to Khols. I know, I know, what was I thinking ๐Ÿค” and why haven't I checked it out a long time ago? I don't have a clue why not! We hit the jackpot there! We found shorts and capris and some cute tops that were perfect for her! Then, since we couldn't resist we went to the baby department and found some really cute clothes for Jaylen. Yep that's my new Granddaughter's name! So we ate at Sonic and made it home by about 8:30! While we were driving ๐Ÿš— down our gravel road the baby calves came up to the fence to check us out. It was still day light so we couldn't resist taking pictures!

(There they are! Aren't they cute!)

Talk to you later!
