The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

Saturday Fun!

( Izaiah's creative tower! ) Hey there my friend's! How are you on this beautiful Saturday! At least it has been beautiful in Southwest Missouri! It was a little breezy but still absolutely gorgeous outside! So we spent most of the day outside playing! The boys discovered what fun it is to wade in the Koi pond, catch 🦎 lizards and coast down hill as fast as they could go, one on a trike the other on a scooter! I love it when they use their imaginations! Playing for me outside usually means gardening or taking pictures 📷 ! Today it was both! My little plants are doing well in my Greenhouse!

Tom finished one of my garden beds so I planted my Cabbage, 🥦 Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts and Potatoes 🥔! I freed up some space in the greenhouse and planted the plants that can go in the ground now! The rest of the day I took photos! Yesterday I got two new camera lenses! One is a wide angle macro lens and the other is a telephoto zoom lens. Of course I had to try them out! I started with the Macro lens. I used it for up close flower pictures! Here they are!

Then I got more flower photos and of course there has to be a kitty in at least one!

So Tom is tearing out my old garden beds while still leaving me something to plant in! Our garden looks pretty rough right now but I know that when it's done it will be beautiful as well as functional! Here is what it looks like right now!

About 6:00 pm our little guys started to get cold and hungry. So we went in and baked a frozen 🍕 pizza! Frozen pizza never tasted so good! I guess we were hungry! Then all four of us hoped on the 4 wheeler and we went out to our west field where we built a new pond. It's just tucked into the hillside like it's been there all along and it is spring fed! We made it there right at sunset. I got some beautiful pictures of the sun setting and reflecting back off the water!

The boys played tag in the twilight! It is always more fun when you can barely see each other! Here are some sunset shots!

On the way back I got a great shot of the moon! Unfortunately I can't show you that yet! It's on my other camera! My computer wouldn't boot up today for some reason. I can't get it to the computer Dr. till Monday! I hope it's something simple! Anyway I can't upload any of my pictures taken with my DSLR camera! So we got back to the house just in time to shower the boys and put them to bed! They went right off to sleep 💤😴! They were tired little guys! So since I don't have any moon shots to show you I will leave you with some kitty pictures!

(Truffles and Lucy Lu!) Goodnight my friend's! Hope you had a great Saturday! FG FarmGirl
