The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

Happy Thanksgiving

Updated: Jan 3, 2021

Hi my friends and Happy Thanksgiving! I told you that I would see what I could come up with for this years table setting. So I have to admit I went to Walmart instead of the dollar store but I already had stuff from the dollar store that I used. I really do like the the pioneer women merchandise that they have in Walmart because it looks kind of old fashioned and the colors work in my house. So that is where I started, with a teal table runner from Pioneer Women. Then for napkins I like to use kitchen towels, after they are used they get thrown in the wash and I have new kitchen towels! Once again Pioneer Women had just the right colors. I was looking for place mats but like many of you I had to keep my cost down. So I found drawer lining in the same color as burlap. I cut it a part and got 4 placemats for a buck! Then I went to the fabric isle and found off white linen fabric. I bought enough to cover a big table. I need to seat sometimes 20 people but it won't be that many this year! Maybe about 10 this year! So that's pretty much it! I have pictures that show my progress. Since I had extra fabric I gathered and tied it with burlap & lace ribbon, 1.00 at the dollar store. I pinned it up with a safety pin. So here are my pictures. I hope it gives you a little inspiration!

There it is, not set for 10 yet!

My little helpers, they got really excited when I lit the candles! Happy, happy Thanksgiving everyone! Don't let Covid get you down! We may have to do things different this year but we will still thank the Lord for his blessings and we will persevere!
