The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

Happy 4th of July!

Hey there my friend's! I hope everyone, at least every American citizen, had a great 4th of July! In my family we are on baby watch! Normally we would get together with extended family on the 4th but my Daughter's due date was the 5th.

We weren't sure what to do. I wanted to pull something off for my little guys. So we ended up with just immediate family. Samantha & Gus, our son Steven and his girlfriend and her kids. Then of course my husband, myself and our little guys.

I didn't stress about anything! My house wasn't clean and no one cared! There was no fancy or even fun table decor. No one cared!

Sam, Gus, the boys and I swam in our pool for a couple hours. We played Marco Polo! Then we barbecued hotdogs 🌭😎 and ate potato salad, chips and pie on the back porch!

Steven helped the little kids shoot off their little fireworks 🎆🙄! We had 4 little girls so there was a lot of shrieking and squealing! Then when it got dark we went out to our west pasture as far away from the Turkey Barns as we could get!

My husband had to make sure he left the lights on in the barns. This helps keep the birds calm and they don't scare at flashes of light! We also put all our dogs 🐕 in the basement. We have a few thunder chickens 🐔! This way we knew they were all safe!

So we picked some really good fireworks this year! Most of them were multiples and went off over and over again. They were really pretty and again we got a lot of shrieks and sqeals from all the kids!

The only problem, it didn't last nearly long enough! Jeremiah especially was disappointed. He was sad that our party was over. I told him we would do it again next year! That helped a little bit and they were so 😫 tired! When we got them to bed they went right out! So we had a great time, no stress and no fuss! I think there might be a lesson in that for me!

It is now Friday and still no baby! Sammy's uterus is still shut up tight like Fort Nox. I swear there is no more room for the baby to grow! If she hasn't had her by Monday her Doctor is going to admit her that evening and start to induce her. Either way, by the middle of next week we should be holding Jaylyn in our arms! This Nana can't wait! Talk to you all later! FG Farm Girl
