The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

Garden Show!

Hey my friend's how are you? Sorry I haven't posted anything in the past few days. I was getting ready for a home visit from Family Services! So I was cleaning and reorganizing! I also had to go through and make sure all medications were locked up as well as all knives and chemicals (cleaning products)! I had just finished when our Social Worker called and said she knew it was a little early but could she come on over? I said yes. I finished just in the nick of time! We passed for another 4 months. We are a Relative Placement Home for our Grandson! There are a lot of hoops to jump through but is worth it. Keeping them safe is our number 1 priority! So last Saturday we had a chance to get away from the farm! We went to the lawn and Garden Show in Springfield! My oldest sister Twila went with us and her son and daughter inlaw kept our boys (they have 4 girls of their own)! They had their hands full but they told us the boys were very good for them! It was nice to have a break from the boys and the garden show was fun! There were plants for sale! . Most of the plants were over priced and let's face it for us here in MO it's just too early to plant 🪴most things. It was just a week ago that we were in the deep freeze! It was colder here than it was in Siberia! Honestly, it's true! There were some things that we could pick up. A guy had Pussy Willow starts for sale for a 1.00 a stem! Also our cousin Danny Brooks was there with his daughter. They had a booth where they sold succulents, baby citronella plants, lavender and strawberry 🍓plants! So I scored some strawberry plants, some lavender a citronella plant 🪴and a little succulent for my daughter! Then there was a man who did a presentation. His name was P. Allen Smith. Maybe some of you know who he is. He has a program on TV, I guess you can now find it on YouTube! Anyway he is an incredible gardener and he has a home with extensive gardens called Moss Mountain Farm! It is in Arkansas and they give tours of the farm! He showed pictures and it is gorgeous! My sister and I are going to have to make a road trip! She was really excited to hear him speak. I had no idea who he was but I do now! He talked about being a plant geek! It was funny because I think everyone in the audience understood how attached we get to our 🪴🌿plants! For Twila and myself and our cousin Danny it's that gardening gene! Anyway a good time was had by all and it was nice to get away from the farm! Talk to you later my friend's! Remember, I love all of you but Jesus loves you more! FG FARM GIRL

I wish I had taken some pics at the garden show but I didn't. So here is a picture of Honey and Jeremiah playing!

I have been playing with my camera lately so here are some beautiful sunset pics for you!

Remember if you like what you see you can order a framed print! Just let me know!
