Frustrated!
Updated: Jan 26, 2021
Hey there my friend's! Sorry I've had a quiet week! I've been sick, not the dreaded covid but a bug that's been going around. So I've finally come up for air! How is your New Year going? Have you made any New Years resolutions? Are you keeping them? I have to say that I am not a New Years resolution kind of girl. I am more of a spur of the moment kind of girl. Not that I don't plan things but I do allow room for that the things that life seems to throw your way! So, what has life thrown my way lately! Izaiah had a doctors appointment on Friday in Springfield MO. It is a 2 hour drive from here. We used to live there and I worked in Springfield for years so I used to know my way around. We moved 24 years ago and Springfield has grown and changed. I thought I knew where I was going but I got turned around. Twenty-four years ago the hospital complex was just the hospital! Now it's a huge complex of multiple buildings and specialist. I finally just stopped at a building and ran in to get directions! The lady was so nice. She gave me a map of the complex and showed me right where to go! I told her that I was afraid we were going to be too late! I was told his appointment was at 10:00. She looked it up and said no it's at 10:30 your not late and she said she would call the office and let them know that we were coming. We got over to the building as quickly as possible. We had to go through the area where they take our temps and ask all the Covid questions. I asked where the office was located she told us the third floor. We found the elevator, went to the third floor only to find out the office was located on the 1st floor. So we ran back down to the 1st floor found the office went to the reception desk only to be told the we were too late and would have to reschedule on a different day! I was mad! We were only a few minutes late! I told them we lived 2 hours away! She didn't care! I thought she was very rude! I told her that Izaiah couldn't go back to school unless his scripts were refilled! She told me to go to my pharmacy and request a refill. That was on Friday, there was no way we could get it refilled until Monday! He was
not going to get to go to school until probably Wednesday because that's how long it takes to get it filled! I started to take my mask off just to talk to the lady and in a very rude voice she said, "Mam you need to put that back on!!" In hindsight I thought I should have said I just drove 2 hours with a hyper 5 year old, got lost, stopped to ask for directions 3 times, got in the building only to be sent to the wrong floor, all the while stressed out trying to get to the appointment on time just to pull off my mask lean over the counter breath in your face and give you covid! I know that covid is serious and for those with health problems it can be deadly! I am very sorry for those who have lost loved ones! I am just saying that Lady was rude and you can't tell me they couldn't work us in! Since we now had some extra time I stopped Mears. It's a wholesale house for fresh and silk flowers. Definitely my kind of place! The reason I stopped there is because 2 of my favorite people in the world 🌎 work there. I haven't seen them in years! You know those people in your life that become like sisters! Then you don't see them for a long time but when you get together with them that connection is still there. One of my friends was out on delivery but Connie was there. We had a chance to catch up a little and share a hug! You know I like sites like Facebook and it has changed the way we communicate. It does not however make up for seeing a friend face to face! There is nothing like the hug of a friend, especially if you haven't seen them in a long time! Well all of you know that I don't like to go out in public with my Grandson's. Their behavior is terrible! So here I am standing there talking to my friend while Izaiah is running around grabbing things off shelves and bringing them to show me! Well this escalated until I was grabbing him by the neck of his 👕 shirt trying to slow him down! As usual everyone else thinks it's funny and Connie was laughing! I told her we better go but we'll see her on our next trip that better not be a total waste of time and gas money! I fed him McDonald's took him to the restroom and he fell asleep and slept all the way home! It wasn't a total waste of time I did get to see Connie! That made me smile all the way home!
