The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

Awesome Weekend!

Hey there my friend's! What an awesome weekend we have had! I hope everyone had a sun drenched couple of days.

(So this is my latest plant haul, alot of this came from our local Sutherlands. My daughter works there! They have Proven Winners. If you don't already know about Proven Winners, give them a try, I don't think you'll be sorry!) We had a nice cool breeze and plenty of sunshine 🌞! It was a perfect weekend to do whatever you're in to doing outside! Mine of course is gardening! I managed to get so much done! I got all my pots potted up. I even got my front flower beds planted. I also got a good start on my Butterfly 🦋garden!

I started pulling flats of plants out of my Greenhouse. I tucked plants here and there! I planted some Lupine in my fragrant rose bed! I planted Marigolds in my front flower beds and then from my winter sowing I planted Liatris, Butterfly weed, Sunflowers 🌻, and Double petal Black Eyed Susan's all in my Butterfly 🦋 Garden! All of those plants either came out of the Greenhouse or I started them in Milk Jugs (Winter Sowing)! Also I planted some Sweet Peas that I started in the Greenhouse. Ok so I'm patting myself on my back just a little bit! It's a lot of work and I wouldn't do it if I didn't love it! Now hopefully I can keep the dogs 🐕and 🐈 cats out of all of it! Some of the dogs have been sleeping and digging in my flower beds! Some of the cats think my pots are fancy litter boxes! Then there's my Grandson's!

(The first dog is Katie my Granddog and my digger! Then there is Lovey 1 of our older Collies. I looked behind my pot and my concrete kitty, and surprise, there were real kitty's! Taffy and Merlot.)

Wednesday after supper Izaiah and Jeremiah went back outside to play. They hadn't been outside very long when we heard crying! I have to admit that Jeremiah cries over the least little thing. So we didn't jump and run right away!

Then he came in with blood running down his face! His brother had thrown a frisbee and hit him in the head! He had a big deep cut right above his left 👁 eye. Deep enough that we had to take him to the ER! They glued it shut!

So believe me when I say I was constantly checking on them! The great thing about the weekend is that they spend some time with their Dad. Then if Sam and Gus are off work they spend some time with them. When Papa has his Turkey chores done they will go with him for a while. The jist of it is Nana gets a break!

So that's it for now! I've added some new video on YouTube! Look for it under Tricia Peelen. Also I have my photography in a new online gallery. It's called smugmug look for it under Tricia Peelen/ A Farm Girls Life! You will find Fine Art that you haven't seen on A Farm Girls Life and remember Mother's Day is coming up. Beautiful wall art just might be the perfect 🎁 gift! Talk to you later! FG Farm Girl

( Sunset on the farm and a Collie, Finn, always so pretty!)
