The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

Adventures In Grandparenting!

Hey my friend's! It is 5:00 am here in Southwest MO. I tossed an turned since 3:00 am then gave it up and decided to write my blog! It is absolutely freezing here. We are colder here in the Midwest than it is right now in Siberia! Not kidding! It has been years since we've been this cold for this long. You can't convince me that we are going through global warming! Weather pattern changes I get but not global warming! So my little Grands have been out of school due to presidents day and today the Weather! We finally have snow but it's too cold to go outside and play in it! I thought maybe today I would bundle them up really good and try to take them out sledding. It probably won't last very long but at least it's something different to do! They are bored and I am running out of ideas! Now we have reached the testing faze! Let's just see how far we can push Nana till she goes over the edge! I haven't told you about our weekend adventure yet! At Christmas 🎄 time I went to the Dollar Store and purchased some small inexpensive toys to keep them entertained on the long trip to Iowa! One of those was a pinball game! Jeremiah decided on Friday to take it apart. So we had all these little balls from the game scattered about! Before I could get out of bed Saturday morning my husband comes upstairs to tell me that Izaiah has put balls in his ears! One in each ear! Tom said, " I tried to get them out but I couldn't and I don't have time for this!" Fortunately Sam was off work that day so she could watch Jeremiah. Of course this is a small town and the only place to go on the weekend is the ER so that's where we went! I have to say that the Dr., Nurse and the rest of the staff were really great with Izaiah! The Doctor tried several things to try to get the balls out of his ears! He tried taking an instrument with a wire loop on the end and that didn't work. Then he tried tweezers and that didn't work. Then he tried suction and that didn't work! Finally he said, "I think we're going to have to reevaluate! So he got on the phone and consulted a specialist. They suggested that we would have to sedate him to get the balls out! I agreed to it because let's face it, what else could we do? So they put all kinds of little monitors on him and they had to put an IV in his arm to give him the medicine 💊! Izaiah was not having any part of that! They hadn't even touched him and he was crying and yelling! It took 2 male Dr.s a nurse and myself to hold him down! Poor kid was totally freaked out! The medicine 💊 had the weirdest effect on him. It was like his brain was asleep but his eyes were totally open. When the Dr finally dug the balls out of his ears Izaiah even said owe but he doesn't remember any of it!! As he was coming off the medicine he would all of a sudden turn and look at me and act like he was totally surprised to see me, he asked for Papa. Then he just started to talk about random things. He actually acted like he was drunk. He decided he wanted chicken 🐔 Mcnuggets. So as a reward for being so brave, we stopped at McDonald's before we came home! He was still a little unsteady when his Papa took his hand and led him upstairs for a nap! When we asked him why he put the balls in his ears he said because his brother was being too loud and wouldn't shut up! I have to admit that Jeremiah does talk all the time! Even when he doesn't have anything to say he just makes something up. I bet Izaiah doesn't put anymore balls in his ears! At least I hope not! GOD Bless you my friends, talk to you later!
