The Roots of my life go back as far as my Great Grandfather.  Gardening is a gene that has been passed down in my family from generation to generation.  It serves as a metaphor for life.  Deep strong roots keep you firmly grounded in tradition, passion and happiness!

For years, I have served as a helpful role to those seeking inspiration, help, or advice. In 2020,  I finally decided to own that role and be intentional about it. I started writing about my passions, my thoughts, and curious wonderings about our society. I founded A farm girls life! with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind, and it has been a wild success ever since.

A BEAUTIFUL DAY!

Famiy fun, Family Time, Grandkids . Hey all! How is your week going? It's awfully dreary and drizzly here in South West MO! I'm not really complaining because we've been so dry but it's hard to get motivated in this weather! . . The other night when we went out to eat for my daughter's birthday of course our little Grandsons came along as well. I kept hearing the boys fussing so I finally turned around to see what was going on. My youngest Grandson had taken his coat off and was flipping it! So I asked, "why are you swinging your coat around?" And he said, "Nana, I'm 🦦 fishing!" To which I said, "Oh, well no fishing in the van!" and he said, "OK Nana! The fish weren't biten anyway." I truly never know what he's going to say next! Today after picking them up from preschool I had to go to the 🏦 bank. I explained this to them and they asked if they were going to get to come in. (If you remember, I don't take them in very many places because they just don't behave.") . I have heard a parenting expert say that you should tell them ahead of time what is going to happen and what kind of behavior you expect of them! It sounded like a good advise. So I explained to my boys that we were going to the bank and yes they were coming in with me. I told them that what I had to do might take a little while and I expected them to sit on the couch in the lobby. Just sit still and wait! . . So we went into the bank and I sent the boys to sit down. I went to my teller and started taking care of things. While I'm waiting I turn around to check my boys and there was one of them literally laying on the top of the back of this really nice leather couch! Believe me it didn't get any better from there! It's amazing how fast people will work with you to get you back out of their place of business! . The boys got time out when we got home and lost the privilege of sitting on a chair for the rest of the evening! Their Papa had things to do out side until late and their Dad was also working late! Not to mention I was knee-deep in paperwork, ( Blah! I can think of a million things I'd rather do!) So it was a two movie afternoon/evening! Sitting on the floor! Standing at the table to eat! . The movie choices were "The Icredibles" and " Insideout." Both got a thumbs up from my movie 🎥 critics! We ended the evening w with brats, 🌭 hotdogs and lots of books to read. Our current favorites "The little Blue Truck" and "Five Little Monkeys!" . . It was clean sheet night 🌙 at our 🏠 house tonight. Then we tucked our 🐒 Monkeys in with lots of tickles!
